Activity report 2005–2008

for Schengen Joint Supervisory Authority (JSA)

The eighth activity report by the Schengen JSA presents the JSA's work in 2005-2008 to protect individuals' privacy in respect of personal data processing in the Schengen Information System. It includes, among other things, the JSA's comments in regard to the development of SIS II (the second generation of the Schengen Information System) as well as the initiatives taken to examine how the Schengen Convention is implemented and used and the practical problems that may occur. The report also includes the JSA's opinions in various data protection issues and how the future joint supervision will be organized.
